The Pittsburgh Doo-Wop Big Band Returns to The Oaks Theater.
Get ready for one swingin' night of Entertainment!
Relive the sounds of the 50s, 60’s and 70’s with the Pittsburgh Doo Wop Big Band. Under the direction of Richard G. Mansfield, musical director, arranger/ conductor of the “American Soundtrack Series,” the group has recreated the same great musical arrangements as seen and heard on PBS. These shows, which included DooWop 50, DooWop 51 and R&B 40, were broadcast on WQED and became the highest grossing shows in the history of PBS. Enjoy the sounds of Motown, the rhythms of the Crystals and the Chiffons, the smooth sounds of the Miracles, Etta James, and more!
Featuring the sensational vocal accompaniment of BILL REICHERT (formerly with the Mystics” (Hushabye), Vito Balsamo of “Vito and The Salutations” (Gloria & Unchained Melody) and “The Dedications”) and LAURA ROZDAY who, billed as “Laura Rose”, charted locally produced singles “Kansas City” and “I Want a Man Who Can Dance With Me”.
