The Quiet Man Presented by The Blessing Board
| Please help support The Blessing Board by purchasing tickets for their upcoming fundraiser. The Blessing Board provides furniture and home goods, free of charge, to families in need.
If you’ve never seen the “Quiet Man” it’s perhaps the best of all of John Wayne’s 178 movies. And, if you have never watched a beloved film on the big screen with an audience of family and friends, you are in for a treat. Filmed in 1952 and set in the 1920s, the movie tells the story of an American from Pittsburgh who returns to his family roots in Innisfree, Ireland to escape the realities of his life in the United States. The evening will also include some interesting Quiet Man trivia with Vaughn and Debbie Gilbert, who have seen the movie scores of times and who have made two pilgrimages to the town in which the movie was filmed. Purchase tickets in advance at the Oaks Theater Box Office on Friday, Saturday or Sunday from 5 to 10 PM. Or at the Vintage Market at 140 Pennsylvania Avenue every Thursday, Friday or Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. If neither of those options work, email the vintagemarket@theblessingboard.org and state how many tickets you want held. You will receive a reply with instructions. |

Rhapsody with Seth Multiple Dates & Times April 22nd Monday and April 23rd Tuesday Please be sure your ticket order has the correct date.
more
We are excited to announce that Broadway pianist/conductor/actor, Emmy nominated comedy writer and SiriusXM’s “On Broadway” host Seth Rudetsky is coming to Pittsburgh with his hilarious and award winning one-man-show Rhapsody in Seth. Rhapsody in Seth recounts Seth’s voyage from school outcast on Long Island to achieving his childhood dream of living in NYC and working on Broadway! Seth opens the show by admitting that some say “living well is the best revenge”, however, he feels that telling his story and “using real names” is even better!
The show takes you from Seth’s tales of woe to tales of triumph as he plays the piano, lip-syncs, and even uses hilarious video footage of himself jazz dancing in leg warmers at age 17! Seth’s adoration of the great divas’ (Patti LuPone!) his family’s quirks (taking him at age 7 to see “Death Wish” and “Taxi Driver”), the pain of coming out, a once-admired teacher’s betrayal, and his joy at leaving the oppressive school environment and finding acceptance within the musical theatre world he dreamed of all come across in a “heartbreaking and hilarious!’ (The Advocate) 90-minute one-man-show!
“Funny as it is poignant…a star who is compelling, endearing and inherently hilarious. You will not likely see another one-person show this year to equal its humor and humanity.” -TheatreMania
